Act 101: Taubman's Supplemental Discovery Responses

Although we literally had to get a court order to force them to do it, on September 6, 2002, Taubman finally provided us with some answers to our discovery requests on their copyright claim. Well, sort of. As you'll see if you follow the link below, the responses are light on information, but are filled with references to documentation that "is being produced herewith." Despite the unambiguous language, however, no documents were actually enclosed – it seems that if we want the documents, we're going to have to pay Taubman to make copies! My lawyer tells me that they want an absurd amount of money for the copies, and I can only hope that the money goes to Taubman rather than to their attorneys. Taubman recently pumped a huge amount of funds into The Shops at Willow Bend to keep the mall afloat; perhaps my copying fees will help keep them out of Chapter 11 for a little while longer...
