NOTICE OF SCHEDULING CONFERENCE REGARDING DISCOVERY, FINAL PRETRIAL ORDER, FINAL
PRETRIAL CONFERENCE AND TRIAL
You are notified to appear on: TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2001 @ 2:00 P.M. in the Courtroom of
the Honorable Lawrence P. Zatkoff, 730 U.S. Courthouse, 231 W. Lafayette, Detroit, Michigan, for a
scheduling conference on the above cause.
PLEASE BE PREPARED TO DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING:
- A brief summary to the Court of the case and issues;
- Subject matter jurisdiction;
- Relationship to other cases;
- Necessity of amendments to pleadings, additional parties, third-party complaints, et cetera;
- Discovery progress - counsel are instructed to commence significant discovery prior to the
conference;
- Mediation;
- Motions.
At the conference, the Court will set a discovery cut-off date, dispositive motion cut-off date,
schedule a final pretrial conference and trial. All motions must be disposed of prior to the final
pretrial conference. Counsel desiring to have motions heard must file an original and one copy of
the motion, with accompanying brief and proof of service, in the Clerk's Office. An original and one
copy of a response to the motion, with a brief, must filed within 10 days of the time of the filing
of the motion. A date for hearing of the motion, if a hearing is deemed necessary, will be
assigned by this Court, and counsel will be notified as to the date.
THERE WILL BE NO ADJOURNMENTS OF SCHEDULING CONFERENCES BECAUSE TRIAL COUNSEL IS
UNAVAILABLE.
